A FILMMAKER’S PRACTICE - VANCOUVER, BC
us.
Stories connect
I make thoughtful films for people doing meaningful things, and follow the stories that move me, wherever they lead.
DAVID KIMBER - STORY ARCHITECT
SCROLL TO EXPLORE
There’s a story in the details most people miss.
I’m David. A filmmaker, listener, and curious observer. I help organizations and people find the heart of what they do, then shape it into something honest, cinematic and made to last.
Story Architect is the work I do with clients, and the creative space I’m making for myself; room to experiment, notice and tell stories simply because they matter
THE ONGOING PRACTICE
Good stories deserve care.
For clients, the aim is always the same: understand what’s real, find the human details, and make a film that feels like you.
01 - ORGANIZATIONS
Cinematic, story-first films for organizations with something real to say. Built to live beyond a launch — on your website, at your events, and in the way people understand who you are.
Brand Films
02 - PLACES
Architecture and interiors, documented with atmosphere and intention — finding the small choices that make a place feel like somewhere worth being.
Spaces & Homes
03 - PEOPLE
Personal films for families and individuals who want to hold on to something real. Honest, unhurried, and made to be watched for generations.
Legacy Stories
04 - THE COLLECTION
Stories I’ve told
A growing collection of films made alongside thoughtful people, teams, and communities.
Making things
just because.
A NEW CHAPTER, IN MOTION
I’m making more room for work that starts with me. Small films, visual experiments, observations, and stories I might not have known to look for until I began.
This isn’t a finished series or a polished body of work yet. It’s a practice taking shape in public — a creative outlet, an invitation to follow along, and a way to see what happens when curiosity gets the time it deserves.
Maybe it grows into something. Maybe the making is the point. I’m open to finding out.
Not every story needs a brief. Some begin with a question, a feeling, or simply the urge to pick up a camera.
The next film is still becoming. When there’s something to share, it’ll find it’s way here.
Independent in spirit.
Steady in practice.
THE WORK CONTINUES
The creative direction is expanding, while the relationships and client work that built Story Architect remain part of the story. I continue to support long-term teams and take on the right projects — with the same care, craft, and follow-through.

FOR THE WORK ALREADY UNDERWAY - AND THE STORIES AHEAD
Let’s make something
that matters.
Have a story to tell, a film to make, or an idea you’d like to explore? I’d love to hear you’re thinking.
