My Story
Every brand film starts the same way: by noticing the story someone almost missed in their own organization. That instinct didn't start in a boardroom. It started a long time before Story Architect existed.
My creative journey started long before I ever knew what storytelling was, from swinging PVC pipes in the backyard and painstakingly rotoscoping lightsabers frame-by-frame, or cutting together videos of my friends “jumping higher” by reversing the footage. In high school, I ran the weekly news program that aired across the school, my first taste of real storytelling. That passion led me to film school at The Art Institute of Vancouver, where I began sharpening the skills that still shape me today.
In 2013, I launched Kimber Images, stepping into the world of real estate photography. What began as photographing homes quickly grew into a deep appreciation for interiors and architecture. I discovered a passion for capturing the quiet stories within still places, where even walls and windows can convey meaning.
By 2022, I felt the pull back toward video and founded Ki.StoryStudios. Through video, I rediscovered the power of storytelling in motion, candid or professional, raw or polished. There’s nothing better than watching someone see their story reflected back at them, often realizing it for the first time.
That work now lives under Story Architect, a brand built around one belief: every organization, business, and person has a story worth telling well. Brand films are at the heart of it, with a methodology built to grow alongside the people I work with.
But here's what clients actually tell me matters most, it's not just the final film. It's the process. Trust, honesty, and open communication, from the first conversation to delivery. When we work together, you're not hiring a vendor. You're gaining someone who treats your story like it's theirs to protect.
Outside of the work itself, I'm a husband to Renee and a dad to three kids who keep me grounded in what actually matters. They're the reason the North Star exists, and the reason I show up every day to build something worth showing up for. I’ve always been drawn to details and stories, whether it’s a favorite shade of British Racing Green woven through my site, a passion for basketball and the pursuit of dunking, or annual Harry Potter Halloween builds at home. These little touches shape how I see the world and, ultimately, how I create.
